Sings Zhanna Bichevskaya
The Cherubic Hymn is the primary cherubikon, or song of the angels, sung during every Divine Liturgy of the year except those of Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday. It occurs after the Gospel reading and is interrupted by the Great Entrance. The Cherubic Hymn was added to the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom by order of the Emperor Justinian near the end of the sixth century.
"We, who mystically represent the Cherubim,
And chant the thrice-holy hymn to the Life-giving Trinity,
Let us set aside the cares of life
That we may receive the King of all,
Who comes invisibly escorted by the Divine Hosts."
Hello
ОтветитьУдалитьI have been reading your blog for some time; congratulations! You are doing a great job to let know more of your country to people elsewhere in the world. I am often deeply moved, like with this post about the Kursk, or interested in your posts - let me recall one about the dachas, another about Russia north countries.
I would particularly like to know more about two items: the Taymyr region, and the trials to discover the Northeast passage to the Pacific. Maybe you could post on one of those themes...
Mario
Thank you for your kind words, Mario!)
