To be born Russian, to remain Russian
And save this happiness,
When and wherever to wander–
Such as grandfathers ,to lay down in earth.
Very beautiful.Last weekend was the first time I have seen icicles in many, many years. I went to a small store that was near a bridge. The temperature had been below freezing for days, and there were long icicles, 3 or 4 meters long, cascading over the side of the bridge. I was not carrying a camera though.
I found these photos in my favourite russian photo-blog http://fotki.yandex.ru/.I like to find there interesting photos for my blog. The snowfalls in our region started just before the New year. Now the weather is quite warm about 0-2C.I hope it will be snowing again soon.
It seems that the climate has been unusual world wide lately. While it is warmer than usual for you, many elderly people here tell me it has been colder than they remember in many years. While weather reports have regularly reported snow here, it has not snowed yet this year, but there was heavy hail a few nights ago.I took bookmarked your favotite photo-blog to look at later. At least I will be able to practice reading cyrillic letters that way.
